Taster’s Review:

For my husband’s Superbowl party this year, I prepared a gallon of this tea – and it was gone when I returned home after the game!  Apparently it was a big hit!

And for good reason – it’s not only tasty but very refreshing too.  It has a clean, crisp minty taste that quenches the thirst without tasting overdone (not too minty) or too sweet.  In fact, this concentrate is unsweetened, which I like!  It allows me to decide just how sweet I’d like the tea to be.  And I find it to be really delicious without any sweetener whatsoever.  For the aforementioned party, I did add some agave nectar, and after a quick taste I found that a small amount of sweetener brings out some of the mint notes of the tea.  But it tastes great with or without sweetener, and I like that Third Street Chai leaves it up to the tea drinker whether they’d like it sweet or not.

The green tea is a very light taste here, but it isn’t overwhelmed by the mint.  It has a delicate vegetative taste – this is a very light grassy taste and I don’t think it’s enough to be off-putting to even the most sensitive palate.  This is a green tea that even those who don’t care for green tea can appreciate.

It is super convenient too!  Just mix 1 part concentrate to 7 parts cold water.  I actually use a little less water because I add ice which dilutes it – however, since this is so easy to make, it would be equally as easy to make tea cubes to chill the tea.

This would be perfect for your next BBQ!

Tasters Review:

SororiTEA Sisters was one of the first Tea Review Blogs to review a bottled tea from Marley Beverage Company and we are proud to say that we have a 2nd review to share!  This time around we have All Natural Relaxation Marley’s Mellow Mood Black Tea – Peach Raspberry Passion Fruit.  It says it reduces stress and relieves tension.  It’s decaf, too!  To check out the review we posted back in November for Marley Beverage Company’s Green Tea and Honey CLICK HERE!

As far as a bottled iced tea this is pretty tasty!  As far as a decaf-sweetened-bottled-iced-tea this is pretty awesome, I must say!  Yes, it’s sweet and it’s fruity but here is a lengthier review of this groovy product…

Upon opening the bottle I could smell peach followed by passion fruit with a little berry tied in.  It almost smelled wine-like.  It was a glorious aroma!

My first sip was an eye-opening one!  It was much flavorful than I expected!  A nice-sweet-fruity bottled iced tea is certainly what we have here!  The black tea taste isn’t in the forefront – it seems to be hiding in the background – but with all of the other flavors going on here there is a lot of others to keep me interested and busy!  I could taste the Passion Fruit first and then the Raspberry and the peach isn’t as strong as I thought it would be but that is ok!  It doesn’t leave a funky aftertaste which I appreciate!

This is another pleasant surprise from Marley Beverage Company.

Now…I’ll leave you with another of my favorite Bob Marley songs…

Ahhh!  But there are so many to choose from…

Today I choose…

Tasters Review:

I have been pondering this review for quite some time.  I wasn’t sure which direction to go with it…I still don’t so I will just start typing, I guess.

First, I want to say that when I received the package from Pluff Iced Tea I was VERY impressed with the presentation because they wrapped a bunch of Iced Tea Samplers in see-thru plastic and tied it with twine.  Also in this package was a long handled wooden spoon that I plan on reviewing separately down the road!  It was very ‘homey’ and reminded me of sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair sipping on iced tea.  And that’s just the feeling I got when I opened my box!

I made two quarts of this by adding 1/3 C of sugar.  Normally I wouldn’t add anything to my tea – even iced teas – but since this is a Country Red Tea and many of my southern friends tell me how much they LOVE their sweet tea with ‘the more sugar the better’ I figured I would try it with more sugar – just to live life on the wild side!  One of the suggestions or tips from Pluff Tea was to “sweeten up to 1/3 C, sweeten to taste”.  Again, I wanted to try this sweeter right from the start!  I did sneak 2 sips prior to adding the sugar and thought it was sweet as-is with no additional sugar yet added.  I believe this to be tasty with or without sugar!

If you are into sweet tea and even sweeter rooibos you would probably LOVE this.  I must admit it really surprised me at how sweet it was but after my taste buds got used to the sweetness I really enjoyed it especially with meals – mostly my dinners!

At first sip – it reminded me of a bottle of sweetened iced tea that you would buy at the store, again, mostly because of all of the sugar I added.  But with an extra something and that something was a great tasting rooibos.  It’s not every day I find a good quality iced rooibos tea but this is certainly IT.  It’s what makes it stand above the rest!

Before adding the sugar it smelled like a very strong plain rooibos…very pleasant.  After adding the sugar it smelled of Rooibos and sugar!

This was pretty good and I am VERY glad I got to try it!  I must say I haven’t found an offering quite like this from any other company and that in itself scores extra points with me!  I mean…a good ole sweet tea made of rooibos in a bag that is easy to make at home or on the run…SCORE!!!!  And it’s very versatile and easy to reach various levels of sweetness without losing the tasty quality of the Rooibos!  If you have the chance to try this…please do!

Westchester Tea from Trump Tea

Tea Type: Herbal Tea

Where To Buy: Trump Tea

Product Description:

Antioxidant-rich organic blueberries bring priceless elegance
to this assortment of soothing herbs and delectable fruits.
The delicate flavors of rosehips, hibiscus and elderberry add
depth and character to this wonderfully luxurious blend. (caffeine-free)

Ingredients: Organic hibiscus, raisin, elderberry, blueberry, strawberry, mango, raspberry, natural organic extracts of strawberry, vanilla and cherry.

Tasters Review:

This is my 3rd Trump Tea and I must say I am overly pleased with Trump Tea as a whole!  As for Westchester Tea from Trump Tea the aroma of the dry blend – prior to steep smells like Blueberry, Strawberry, and Raspberry.  Once steeped I can smell the Elderberry, Mango, Cherry, Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry – in that order as I sniff.  From a distance (across the room as a matter of fact) this smells like a fruity candy!  The color – once steeped – is a Purple/Red and very vibrant!

I can taste the flavors in this order – Blueberry then Strawberry followed by Raspberry and Cherry and the Hibiscus jumps in and then jumps out (just enough to say HELLO) and then moves on to Elderberry and Mango…the Vanilla and Raisin flavors are subtle and add more to the aftertaste than anything else.

This bagged tea is jam-packed with ingredients and they all seem to mesh well!  There is so much going on it thankfully overpowers the hibiscus and makes it tolerable. Many of you know how Hibiscus is usually a turn off in teas for me but NOT in this! It works and it works VERY well!

I do prefer this one hot but here is what I found trying it iced…

The Strawberry and Hibiscus pops out more in the ICED Version. I like the Strawberry notes but think overall I like the HOT over the ICED because of the lesser Hibiscus flavors in the HOT…regardless this is still pretty darned yummy!

I’m very pleased with this one and very surprised I like it as much as I do! 3 for 3 for me on Trump Teas!

Alishan High Mountain Oolong from Canton Tea Co

Tea Type: Oolong

Where To Buy: Canton Tea Co

Product Description:

Alishan (Mount A Li) is one of Taiwan’s most famous oolong tea-growing areas. The mountain has a rich soil and ideal climactic conditions. It is cool and moist with daily mists so the plants grow very slowly and produce tender, flavourful tea leaves and buds.

This Alishan oolong is hand-picked and hand-processed by traditional methods into rolled ‘fists’. It has a smooth, fruity, sweet taste and a pleasing bright colour. This tea has a complexity that means each brewing brings out new characteristics and flavours.

New 2010 spring season tea. This is a very good example of one of Taiwan’s most celebrated high-grown oolong teas. The fresh, clean almost creamy taste makes it an extremely refreshing and satisfying tea to enjoy at any time of day.

Our Buyer’s notes
“This tea is produced by an old friend of mine on a small tea farm in Ali Shan. He is a skilled tea maker and only uses the best leaves processed in the old-fashioned way to ensure a sweet taste.”

Tasters Review:

This has been on my “TO TRY LIST” for a long time!   I tried this both ICED and HOT.

HOT is crisp and clean and truly Ali Shan! All I can think of while drinking this is beautiful and happy thoughts…it’s bright and sweet! It’s oddly…but fabulously CREAMY for an Oolong! It’s a gem of an Oolong and I just LOVE it!

COLD…it seems juicer but is still very creamy and quenches my thirst! Excellent either COLD or HOT…YUM!
